If you're looking to swap in place of a 4cyl, you'll also need a tranny and transfer case as they are different, also. You're best bet is to get one from a salvage yard TJ...that way you can get the complete unit, engine, tranny, t-case, and any wiring harnesses and computers. _________________ 04 Unlimited |

Have you tried looking in local salvage yards?
I'm sure there are a bunch of Grands with the I6 4.0L...
Here is a write up on a 2.5L to 4.0L swap if you are interested
If you are dead set on buying a 4.0L from a website, then here is a site

Except the engine in the link is for 92-95's. As far as the t-case, you can swap the input shaft and keep the old case. Oh yeah, you'll also need a computer or to have yours reflashed. _________________ Nothing to see here. |

I looked into doing this, unless you can find all the parts from a junk yard and everything is in good working order, it should be affordable. If not, then it is one expensive swap and putting in a V-8 would be better! _________________
