Did you replace your thermostat too?? I would have replaced that, possible it's stuck open?? Or now that the new pump is in maybe moving fluid faster than the thermastat can react. I sprung for the HD Thermostat, because it's strong but, has a better opening/closing rate.

What Vic said...

It is possible that changing the water pump upset some build up inside your cooling system and may have become lodged in your thermo housing. When you speed up and go faster in the jeep does the heat get cold then or does it get cold sitting still???
Has your jeeps temp gauge been higher than normal???
If the pump was manufactured wrong then it may be flowing poorly.
Did you burp the system afterwards? It could have lots of air in the system.... So many possibilities!
