Hey dudes, first post here, looks good. Found this place while googling the thread topic.

Anyways, I have a 1995 Grand Cherokee with the 5.2 V8. I have had it for about 6 months and I love it. Im going to take it to Miami in December, and only one thing worries me.

Under load especially, or when at a low rpm in overdrive, the tranny (pretty sure anyways) makes a noise like someone threw a penny in there and it is getting jostled around.

Hasn't really gotten any better or worse, its just there, have any of you guys experienced this before? I changed the fluid and filter when I first got the Jeep so I don't think that is the problem.

thanks in advance

lets see, not sure bout the noise, but a tranny cooler is a good thing to have if your hauling something with the 5.2

Welcome to the forum!
I have a 94 with 5.2 and my tranny has been doing the same thing for the past few months. Don't notice any problems. I notice my noise at about 24mph and 45mph right before it shifts. No problems noticable though.

Wow...Never heard mine do that..
It could be a problem with the torque converter... I would suggest going to a local tranny shop and having someone take a ride with you and see if they can tell you what the deal is..

If its the converter ...You can get one for a couple hundred... Much cheaper than a tranny...

I had a custom converter made for my Jeep (2500 stall) and it was under $300 ..

Good luck..
