Good evening guys! I have a '91 Cherokee with 380+K miles and a '93 with almost 300K. The '91 is suffering from its 2nd sagging H/L and the '93 is on its 1st. My question is this: Has anyone come up with the common sense to design a formed/moulded headliner for these beasts yet??? I have no problem with the normal replacement BUT....it would be a lot easier and cleaner to go the route that Volvo did some years ago. I thought that with the number of people who frequent this site.....someone might have run up on this little (hopeful) cure. Have a good weekend....it's beautiful down here in Central Alabama and the mud is "flying" down here on the creek.....

I would re do you old one with vinyl. Looks good, easy to clean. You can do many routes depending on your XJ. In my case it's a trail rig designed to play in mud, rocks, etc so I took it out. If you have the time you can take it out strip it. VERY IMPORTANT Make sure to get as much of the old material as possible off. Get a good glue like 3M for vinyl tops, I think the part # is 08090, I'll double check it Monday. Now from here you have two options... 1) go to Auto Zone, Advance, etc and get a roll of carpet, does a great job and doesn't look bad. 2)Do as some of my friends have done and go to a fabric store and do it in Vinyl, sticks great and easy to clean.

Thank's Vic (Charley Brown)!! I was hoping that some of our American engineers had gotten some smarts....guess it's farther down the road. I've got plenty of adhesive around here, seems that every time I need some I can't find it and go get some more. I have given the carpet a thought, I've used it before in older pickups with good success. I have also used astro-turf in VWs that we ran off-road and have it in an old Jeep (compliments of Uncle Sam) down at the hunting camp. However, I think I might go with vinyl on both of these projects. Thanks Again!

No problem. Like I said a lot of friends have done the vinyl route, cheap, easy fix you can do. Plus very easy to clean. Always glad to help, just don't remove the football when I go to kick it rofl rofl
