I have a 89 wrangler and want to swap to a built 350 maybe 454 but do not want to lose four wheel drive and dont know what trans to use or what i might need any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

454 in a YJ??????

thats insane and that motor is pretty heavy...way too much for that little jeep....id go 350 plenty of power and still better mileage

Go with a built 350 and a NV4500 and atlas II or or a NV 5600. 4500 is indestructible but the 5600 is a 6 speed with a granny low and overdrive 6th

Caps off man, that like yelling at us.


Yes you should change the axles, as the stock ones are marginal at best for stock power.


A turbo 350 to a 208 would be a goood tranny tcase, not to mention you can twin stick the 208


I plan to eventually put a 454 in my YJ, that or a caddy 502,

I am swapping a 302/aod/BW1356 into my Cj7 soon
