Just bought a set of 4.11's and gettin' ready to install 'em. Haven't found any posts here specific to this topic. I've done work on many diffs in the past, but never a complete gear swap. I'm very mechanically capable and comfortable doing the swap, just concerned about the details. As of this writing, i'm running 33x12.50's w/ a 3" lift (no, it hasn't rubbed. Yet...). Have the 4.0 litre with 5 speed. I figgered that the 4.11's would be a good upgrade without going full-blown to 4.56's since I don't do any serious crawling as of yet and am curious if anyone can tell me what I can expect as far as change in performance as well. Any advice on properly adjusting lash and doing the job right the first time would be appreciated. Also, if anybody has any tips, tricks, or problems I should watch out for, i'd be forever in debt! Happy trails to all and to all a good night!

Well, gear swaps aren't technically challenging but they are as much an art as a science. Setting gear lash can be tricky and a mistake can not only be costly but will void any warranties on the parts. If it was my daily driver, I wouldn't attempt it. If it was a trailer queen, on the other hand, I would go at it...but that's me.
