ok heres specs 1994 JGC 4.0 4x4. Tranny blew out in search of new one. Truck stuck outta town.Been lookin like crazy. found one thats 42RE from a 1996. Parts yard says that hollander interchange (parts lister) gives different number meaning its only for a 1996. Dealership service people all say it will bolt up but sensors may be different but I can use the sensors from orig tranny and it will work just fine.I thought all 42RE from 94-98 will work for this. PLEASE HELP!! I need to buy this tranny tonight. Frustrated as can be! Thanks

p.s. thanks to swampy to helpin me out before but that tranny didnt work. you guys are stand up ppl! Very Happy

I know the grands came in 93 with a 5 speed... since you have the I6 maybe you could do the 5 speed... How cool would that be... Mr. Green

So seriously though.. I dont think the AW4 would work.. I dont remember why but I seem to remember that it wont work...

Five speed would defin be nice!! Not a big fan of auto but for now I need to get it back home so just a bolt in is what I need. And your right an AW will not work. I was told it has something to do with the spline ....i dunno.
