Ok I dropped the clutch in too quickly and a loud clanking noise occurred. It sounds like it is coming from the rear diferential. What could the posible problems be? the engine runs, and I was able to back it up a few feet, but with alot of difficulty from the jeep. I think there is a problem in the coupling of the rear axle and the driveshaft. To me, the sound is alot like loose chain rattling around in a coffee can. |

Check to see if the drive shaft is spinning when you let out on the clutch.. IF not you probobly broke the chain in your t case..
You can rebuild it or get another out of an XJ in the bone yard.. as long as it has a 6 cyl. you should be fine.. _________________ BONE STOCK
