For those of you who read my earlier rant about "Amityville Horror", you probably know what's coming.

And you'd be WRONG.

The words "brilliant", "delightful", "honorous", and "joyful" don't BEGIN to cover what this movie was like to see. A rendition of an already enjoyable tale brought into the new realm of computers with startling vibrancy and humor that it bucks the general trend of "good movie, bad remake" like a brahma steer with a firecracker up its azz.

And, in my humble opinion, it was not overdone in the least.

Please forgive me, for I probably should have prefaced this post with the famous words...

"WARNING! WARNING! BRITISH HUMOR AHEAD!!!"

But for those of you who enjoy wry, witty, Brit-point-of-view, or like me, actually WATCHED or even OWNED the BBC series (of which I have the TV and RADIO versions both...), you will not be disappointed in the least. This stays faithfully to the books and the TV series with just the right amount of eye- and ear-candy to bless the newer generation of kids to what is one of the funniest and most enjoyable series ever put out.

And Alan Rickman as the voice of "Marvin" is a SCREAM! No one else could've done that better. I haven't laughed this hard at Alan Rickman since "Dogma".

("Do you hose down EVERY MAN that enters your bedroom with flame-retardant chemicles?!?! No wonder YOU'RE still single!!!!! laugh laugh )

I can't stress this enough. If you have the money and want an ENJOYABLE and FUN-LOVING romp into the mind of Douglas Adams, RUN, don't walk, to the nearest theater and have a go at this. You will not be disappointed.
