Being an old school mechanic, these computer control jobs stump me...
I have a 1995 Country 4.0 AT. I was driving down the highway & it quit. It also made a wierd "POP". I had on the AC , maybe the clutch..? No Spark & A scan tool says " Vehicle not responding" (I believe they have to be running for scan tool to work..) Coil has 12v, Replaced p.u. coil, checked most sensors (unable to check CPS due to no wire letters on the plugs). This happened a couple days after a oil change, tune up, 160 t-stat. Now just cranks over. Dist. spins. Any suggestions?

The ECM should give you error codes even if the engine is not running. Try the key trick and see if you get any codes back. The '95 is an OBDI system, so those are the codes you'll get back. Post 'em up and we'll take it from there.

I'm an old school (backyard) mechanic too...leaning about the computer control is a necessary evil these days. Wink

12 is power disconected (when I switched computers to check)
55 is end of sequence..

I just got my cherokee a month ago, lost spark so I searched the Inet like many others...... so for everyone out there take this advise: If you do not have spark REPLACE THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR FIRST.
Peace to all..
