Now other than boring a hole through the roof or fitting a mag mount, neither of which I want to do, where have you managed to fit an antenna?

Either a gutter mount or boot lip mount would be my preference but which type have you used. And have you found it to be up to the job?

Cheers, Paul Shocked

I have a bracket in the rear of my XJ that is unobtrusive when I close the rear hatch door. It sticks out to the right-side rear of my Jeep and allows for a Firestik II to be attached. It has four mounting holes that you have to drill into the frame, but the mount is not visible with the hatch down.

I run the CB cable under the molding inside the Jeep all the way to the front part of the cab where my radio is. It's a pretty good setup, and is stable for offroad applications.

As I said above. I want to go away from mag mount and drilling though the bodywork. Over here you drill a hole through steel and the corrosion starts immediately Sad Mag mounts get knocked off by low 'flying trees'.

Ordered the bits today and I'm going with a hatchback mount on the rear hatch. Adjustable in all directions to get the right attitude. Then to stick the whip on and see how it goes Razz

Cheers all.
