Hey,

Well when I bought my TJ there was a big gash on my passengers side mirror and there was bit of white showing where it was scratched off. Someone must of put something on it because now all sudden it looks really noticeable with the big white spot of where its scratched. Whatever was on it musta come off...

Would it be ok to get black touchup paint for it?

thanks

Won't help. The factory powder coat cracks and the aluminum base oxidizes easily. I've repainted mine twice, prepping down to bare metal. They just plain suck.

Ugh.

I hate being a perfectionist. I think something had to happen recently for the sudden big white spot on the mirror cause it was not like that before...

The aluminum oxidized underneath the factory coating. It's just a matter of time until it flakes off on it's own.

I bought a used 98 TJ sahara and one side has the original oxidized mirror bracket (?) and the other side must have been replaced because its made out of plastic

Any idea where I could order another plastic mount to replaced my oxidized original with out having to purchase the entire side mirror?

Seems like I saw Quadratec has replacement mirrors in their latest catalog, might want to check there.
