alright i am new and from Louisiana and have owned 1 XJ before and sold it. i am now getting ready to buy a 1990 cherokee 4.0. But the only thing is it has no roof, doors, or rear hatch. The roof was smashed when the xj was flipped. If i knew how to post a picture i would show you how it looks. Anyway i was wondering what kind of stuff i should look out for with the roof being gone and all. oh and it is only $300 and nothing wrong with the engine and tranny. Any help is appreciated.

Umm....

....being a unibody design, you need all the original structural pieces of the body in order to maintain it's strength. Without the roof, there's very little strength in the body. You could tube and brace everything...but that $300 vehicle will cost more in the long run to get it back on the road.

If the motor and drivetrain parts are good, as you stated, buy it and part that stuff out then send the rest off to the car crusher.

I'd have to agree. Unless you're willing to build a good cage to hold the thing together, just salvage the good parts.
