First off, I would like to say "HI!!! Very Happy ) to everyone here. My name is WRFD306 (really it's Chris) and I am a Jeepoholic. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.(that explains why I am posting in this section) I have owned it for about 4 months and I love it. I live on Eastern Long Island (that's in NY for all you outta-staters) Well enough about me, onto my question.
I just started noticing that my power steering pressure line is leaking where it goes into the pump. I see in the Factory service manual that they refer to this as a quick disconnect fitting. I unscrewed the line from the pump and I can see that the threaded fitting is a seperate piece than the metal line. If I order a PS line from a dealer, does it come with the threaded fitting? If not is there just an O-ring that I can replace and how do I seperate the line from the fitting? I am a marine diesel mechanic by trade and I have been working on cars for years (so I am not a complete idiot when it comes to mechanical stuff) but I have never come across a line like this.
Antway, Thanks in advance for any advice.
