Maybe someone can help me.

I have a 98 Jeep Cherokee sport and a 97 TJ. My XJ needs new leafs and I wanna put all my money into the TJ and leave the XJ just for a normal everyday daily driver (child on the way). We do no hauling of heavy anything and do not tow anything with it.

I was looking for leafs for the 98 XJ and found out that there are 5 different part numbers and mine were the most expensive ones.

My questions is: Can I use anyof the other part numbers?

The part numbers in question are listed below.....

Thank you in advance for your help on this matter.....

-Ronnie

Any leaf spring from any XJ will bolt in. The only differences would be spring rates and ride height. The standard leaf is just that...the standard soft ride spring. The heavy duty leaf is a little firmer and came with the towing package.

Now, some Cherokees were ordered with the upcountry suspension package which came with a factory 1" lift. If your's has that package then you will need leafs that have that 1" of lift (which are probably the most expensive ones). Otherwise I would just stick with the heavy duty packs. Even if you are not towing, they will outlast the standard pack and not sag as quickly. I think I paid $65 per when I bought a set of HD packs for mine a while back.

HTH
