I'm going buy a winch here in the next few weeks and I was wondering what advice you might have. I'm trying to keep it under $500 and was looking at some of the Mile Marker winches, Ramsey REP series, and Warn's Tabor brand. I have a yellow top optima battery. For some reason I find myself headlight deep in water on a regular basis and I was wondering how submersible they are.

Submersible and electric winch don't really go hand in hand. My XD9000i is water resistant but if it gets dunked, the manual states it should be taken apart and serviced.
