I'm going to eventually flat fender my tj=when Corey gets back in town. I want to get a front bumper.
something that looks close to this

I'm not sure if fab tech's bumper is worth a damn or not. it uses 1.75 tubing. I'm not sure if that is good or not.
Any ideas of a good front bumper?

Quote:
Body Armorís 2" x 5", 3/16th" wall thickness enclosed rectangle designed Front & Rear Bumpers offer the ultimate in bumper strength. Add standard features like front & rear tow /recovery package, front steering box skid plate protection, shackle mounts welded front/rear, D-rings and front bumper light mounts to complete this no-drill, bolt-on bumper line.

I also like this bumper for a little over $400 bucks, is it worth a damn or not?

Seems kinda pricey - you can get a very similar Jeeperman for about $270.

Except the Jeeperman includes a winch mount and light provisions.

But no bar. That's $99 more and puts it at ~$370 Granted, you still have the winch mount and light mounts as an added value.

Well since you asked!

Theres this realy awsome Jeep Forum called JeepHorizons.com that has an awsome page of hyperlinks aka The Tech Section where you can find links like.....

This one....KTJ Click Me!.....be gental

or this one.....KTJ Click Me!......oooooooooowwwwwww

and even this one for the rearend lover in you!

flipoff agree

btw just kidding....you know I love ya man,,,,,and no not that way either!

I like mine.......very rugged. It does what I need it to do. And like allready mentioned its winch ready and I have never found a need for a front receiver mount. I guess If you like the idea of being able to get a receiver mount winch setup, so you could winch from the front or rear or be able to remove the winch easily to keep the crack addicts from stealing it, then that option might be okay.

But even if that wasnt a concern, then that lower hoop could make you lose some of the approach angle for clearing rocks or trees or whatever, so maybe thats the only downside to that particular one.

Just a thought...but you might drop StevesJeepFab an email and see what he'd charge you to build one to your specs'. I just installed my new rear swing away from him, and it's very decent quality...and the price; Well, let's just say nobody out there could have competed with it. But he told me he would build to my specification(s) if I wanted. Lead time is about 4 weeks, but if you can live with that, it might not be a bad option. You want 1/4" thick vs. 3/16" (which is more common) he'll build it that way for you. You want tube style, he'll do that too.

This standard 3/16" one with hoop runs $230 and includes shipping. He has shorty versons and stuff too though. Tell them what you want.

I looked at the Fabtech bumper, but I ended up going with the Toys By Troy front bumper.

I think I paid 360 for the bumper and Jack mounts and another 100 for the winch mounting plate.
