I was putting the bolts back on when the top driver side screw just snapped inside the bolt, I was going slow and wasnt using any strength to screw it in place, no idea why it snapped

any Idea where I can order some new bolts and is there an easy way to replace that entire screw? Found this site online

http://www.firstclass4x4.com/

its a junk yard for jeeps, not sure if they bother for tiny stuff like that though

What bolt did you break? Your description isn't very descriptive.

Sorry,

I was placing the bolt on the top screw that holds the door on the jeep.

The screw snapped just below where the hinge is to keep it in place on the drivers side

( You know the bolts you remove so you can take your doors off? thats the one Im refering too)

Mine did the same the first time I took my doors off, I said screw it and went with out it. For me though it was just the threaded part, the reast of the pin was intact. To me it's a waste of money to replace it.

You don't remove any bolts to take your door off. There's a nut on the bottom of each hinge. I believe it's 12mm or 13mm. Remove both nuts, one from each hinge, and lift the door up. Repeat on other side of vehicle.

I will caution you that you will damage the paint on the nuts depending on what kind of tool you use. I would recommend either getting the special wrench 4WD.com sells or wrapping the nut with tape to protect it, if any damage would bother you. Also, be careful as you swing the wrench, It will make contact with the body and can damage that paint also.

Sorry, I ment that I removed the nuts, not the bolts.

When I was replacing the nut, the top bolt snapped.

Is there a way to replace this bolt? or is it welded on some where?

Was hoping maybe could order another bolt, and pop the broken one out and replace it.

any one know if the bolt can be replaced? or is it welded in there?

( im refering to the large bolt (screw?) that is connected to the door and goes through the hinge connected to the jeep frame)
