Well it over heated again, so new water pump, HD T-stat, and a new 92 2 row radiator. One thing I loved about it it had a plug in it, so take plug out and my 89 coolant temp sensor fit Smile Going by to get a new heater core valve and bottle in the am. Dam I'm tired!! Dam 104 today, took a 5 hour break and just finished up now, did while it was a lot cooler Wink

First thing drained the radiator, losen the belt, un-bolt the power steering pump, remove t-stat, hoses, water pump and took the old radiator out. Doen't a new water pump look so pretty??

lots of room to work LOL Good Bye closed system!!

And now a nice radiator with a cap!!

Dam, now to do to zilla later Mr. Green

How much did the new 92 radiator cost you? I'm asking cause a 3 row metal core from GDI is $138 shipped...might want to consider it for 'zilla. Also look into the t-stat and t-stat housing from Turbocity (part #'s 640-110 & 640-130). They'll run you about $40 for both and are less restrictive than the factory units. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, here's a shot of the factory housing followed by the ported one:

If you were some anti-freeze trying to get to the radiator to cool off, which one would you want to pass through? Wink

Either way...making the switch from closed to open is the only way to go.

good mod

Thanks!! Sadly I can't wait to order stuff Sad On zilla I will, but I wanted to get hers up and running. The radiator was only $128, so not to bad. The extra 10 might be worth it, to have that 3rd row?? After ALL the posts I have read during my 5 hour break, this was the best way to go for hers. I'm gonna do zilla and probally do a 3 row, scince I'm krazy like you Wink rofl rofl

Not only does it have the extra row...but it's all metal, unlike the factory units which are plastic. Wink
