Now granted it was 90-something today. I was climbing Blood Mountain on the way to Beasley Knob when the overdrive light came on like it does when you mash the button to turn it off. It didn't go out till I'd sat for a while with the jeep off. It came on again on a couple of the trails, but as soon as I'd let it sit for a while it would be off on the next start up. On the way home it kicked itself out of overdrive again!

Now, the tranny was rebuilt last September. I've installed a cooler that's three times bigger than the stock one. The book says the tranny will kick itself out of overdrive when its running hot.

WTF? Think its serious or did I push it too hard on a hot as hell day?

Sounds like the overdrive solinoid might be going bad.. Take it back to your tranny shop and see if they replaced it when they rebuilt ..If not get it replaced now..

If it is the tranny overdrive solenoid, let me know if you have questions, I may be able to help you out. It really isn't too difficult. Just takes a little time.
Let me know
