So Dale and I did some more trail scouting up there this week. This past April, we scouted part of Kephart Run, a little of Dry River as well as Dictum Ridge. This time we focused mainly on Dry River and got some good track logs of the trail system there

Here's a few pics:

Our campsites. We camped in one of the clearings over on Kephart Run.

The rest are from Dry River. This is me going over a hill climb/drop. There's a bypass around it...but bypasses are no fun.

Dale about to do a little water foraging:

Dale also went for a little swim...the water might have been cold, but he's still an idiot:

We'll be having a club run there on August 27th. Wink

Rock On!

Steve

I searched for the entrance to Dictum Ridge and Second Mountain trails on my last trip to that area a year ago. I found the gate closed, but not locked, and couldn't force myself to take that leap. There was to be another entrance along Hwy 33 that I could never find, any help?

Dry River was a blast and the wife and I spent several hours exploring this area too. I still have a photo of the river, near the dam she took as our background picture on the PC.

Both Dictum Ridge and Second Mountain trails are closed on the Rt 33 side. Basically, you have to cross private property to get to both trails and the proerty owners had enough. Confused
