Saw this elsewhere and figured I'd post it up here for ya's to check out. American Racing has some new wheels out. This looks to be a replacement for the AR767....

Renegade (Series 797)

Mojave (Series 3981)

The Mojave looks real nice, but isn't available in 5x4.5 bp or 15" for that matter. It's also got a Teflon finish on it that makes me wonder about the finishes durability on rocks bling .

The 797's are available with the same 15x8 multiple backspacing options as the 767's. Personally, I think they look a helluva lot better than the dated wagon wheel style of the 767's (which is the primary reason I dumped mine). Methinks these are growing on me.........some beat up Canyons and used spacers should about cover the cost of five of those eyebrows Wink . Click the pics to go to the page on AR's site with more details Smile .

When I read one of the ads for the new teflon coated rims, it said something about making the mud come off easier. Rolling Eyes
I would've thought they'd be interested in staying up with the big boys in the rock crawling world. Guess not.

Yeah, the Mojave does look kinda nice....someone posted this on another forum...Victor Series 367

Is it just me or do the Mojave and Victor make is seem like AR is going for the Tonka Truck look? Confused

I do dig the Renegade 797's though....

Rock On!

Just think though, if your brakes really heat up you can always fry an egg on them Laugh . Check out some of the sizes for the teflon coated wheels....20x10, 18x9.5, don't think they're aiming themselves at the general rock crawling audience. Over the last coupla years, AR's really been disappointing me. Last alloy set of wheels they made that I liked were my AR36's and that was like back in '97. Definately considering the 797's though .

I like the Mojaves. I wonder if they're available in 16" for the TJ BP.

But then again, I could probably paint my current AR-Bajas (fairly similar wheel), get the same effect, save money, and take less time touching up the paint when I scrape it off versus trying to match the teflon. (Maybe it makes the rocks slide off easier too Very Happy)

I tried to get the AR767's this fall, but they were backordered everywhere. Instead, I got a set of Cragar 342s. They look pretty much the same as the American Racing ones, but they're cheaper - I paid about $31 each (without the center cap). So far, they and the Krawlers are very happy together Laugh .

They are available in lots of sizes as well as backspacings... Check out www.cragar.com

Love my 767's.. I think they look great..

By the way.. They told me and my buddy that they where backordered and I wouldnt get mine for about 4 weeks and it would be 5 or six for his..

I got mine the same day and he got his the next.. (Turns out that money talks .. We both prepaid and they found them and got them quick..)

I kinda like the Victors ones and.. If they make mudd come off quicker.. Im all for that...

Any pricing on the 797's yet? It shouldnt be much more that the going price for 767's, but anything "new" ussually comes with a price.

The teflon coating is kind of a neat idea. I have an extensive background in residential, commercial, and industrial coatings. One little problem with teflon, nothing will stick to it. After its cured teflon wont even stick to itself. It can and will scratch, what then? Im thinking that those are going to more of a bling item for the all show, no go crowd.

That's my size. It's only going to get harder and harder to find nice 15" wheels. That's the way the wheel industry in general is going....bigger and more bling is better.

I saw the Victor wheels in a catalog already...I seem to remember they were pretty cheap for alloys....like $120 a piece....It was much less than I was expecting.
