I think I found a rear Dana 44. A guy placed an add selling his 88 Cherokee for $1,000.00, Larado package, auto, 4.0 and factory tow package Shocked. Looked at it today, appears to be in pretty good shape for 190k miles. When I looked underneath, it looks like it has a D44. I'll need to confirm it later. Now, I just need to convince my daughter that she doesn't need a D44 in her "new Jeep" and my locked D35 will be just fine for her to drive. shock

We got my daughter's new Shocked 88 Cherokee. Her rear end is safe, its not a D44. The 1st owner kept very good maintinance records from when he drove it off the showroom floor til he sold it 155,000 miles later. We knew it had a water pump that was going to go when we bought it. It went while we were driving it home. It doesn't look like its ever been off road (poor Jeep). Specs: 88, 4dr, 4.0 eng, 4spd AT, a SelectTrac Transfer case (you can chose between 2WD, part time 4WD, or Full Time 4WD), no body rot Very Happy Here are some pictures:

I don't think she did too bad for $1,000
