ok so if need be i can use one side of the bracket to use as a recovery point?

i have some d rings i just dont want it to buckle like the hooks did

Anything is gonna buckle if you exceed its limits. The nice thing with Kevins rad support is that it ties the left uniframe rail to the right uniframe rail giving you a stronger front end for recovery.

wouldnt the hitch do the same?

tie the rails together?

Yes, they both tie the rails together...but it looks like Kevin's supports the radiator as well. More bang for the buck. Wink

Yeah both tie together. Kevins kit is only about $100, supports/protects the radiator, frees up front ground clearance and helps the approach angle.

Hitch would be good if you wanted to mount a hitch mounted winch for the trail only and take off at home.
