Ive lost power.
Duh.

I have an 99 TJ and i threw on a lift and 33's.
Do i need to regear? if so- what to?
Do i need to change ring and pinion?
Do i need to get an off-road chip or something?(do i even have a chip in my jeep?)

Thanks

Regear

you prolly have 3.07 gears like my friend stevo and he lost all his power

go 4.10 if its a daily driver and if its your off road warrior 4.56

Anytime you put on larger tires, your acceleration will suffer. Climb under and look for a metal tag on the diff cover bolts. If you don't know what ratio you already have, it'll tell you. If you're going to go to the expense of regearing, I would go with something more along the lines of 4.56's but it's your decision. http://jeephorizons.com/tech/rpmchart.html

Ditto. Re-gearing ain't cheap...if you have 3.07's you'll need to change the carrier too (if you've got 3.73's you can use the existing carrier). My call would be go 4.56...do it right the first time and forget it. 4.56 will work well with 33's on a daily driver. You'll have plenty of acceleration...and room to grow into 35's. Wink

I'd do the lockers at the same time - save yourself some cash. Wink

Depends on the locker. A Detroit or ARB will require the gears be setup. So you might as well have it installed during the re-gear. If you are going with a lunchbox style, those can be installed anytime.

4.56 gears & 33's work well.
