Hey Tow, I like the looks my friend. Ya, I kind of wish I would have gone with a 16 inch rim, and put a 33 inch tire on with 11.5 inch width. That's a tire diminsion I think is overlooked on the 15 inch rim. Your Jeep looks nice. We all want to go bigger and better, but sometimes I think I should pull the 3/4 inch spacers and be happy with the 3.5 inch lift. As a jeep primarily for the highway, and then offroad, I think we all perhaps go a little over board. As long as my wife doesnt complain, however, I like were I am sitting right now.

I noticed your Warn bumper right-off, same as mine. Skinny tires are suppose to get a better bite in the mud too. My sole reason for the skinny ones was less mass to get started rolling and stopped. Hopefully, easier on the gas MPG and brakes in the long run.

You're looking great too.

Where in CA? I was stationed in Long Beach for four years during the later Viet Nam years, 70-74. Enjoyed the Calif. experience.

Here is a pic of mine after the lift was installed. It is the Rubicon Express 3.5 inch super flex.

I still have a few vibes, but not bad.
I do like the way it rides.
We will put a SYE on it early next year.
Then we will put bigger tires on it also. Move up to 33's.
These are 31's from a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited.

It does look good though, and does turn heads here where I live.

If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about the tire size right now. Go for that SYE because I hear that every inch you raise that skid plate is like equal to two inches in tire size. Sure, the pumpkins don't get raised but then they only come up about a little over an inch anyway with 33's. The reason I say this I have a standard and it had 3.07 gears to start with. After going to 31" I hardly got to use 5th gear. HAD TO regear when I went to 33" and that wasn't cheap even with having a good friend do the work. A auto will handle it somewhat better but I think you'll find your crawl ratio climbing too (faster speed in 4-Lo).

The money might be better spent on some quality rocksliders. BTW, couldn't help notice there was no spare on the back. I purchased an extention from JC Whitney for my 31" spare to hang. Mine you the bumpers no longer reached though.

Jeep looks good fella! Thanks for sharing the pics.

TOW

Thanks for the advise.
I do have sliders on the way. They are coming from Rock-itman.
I have the spare. Just need to put it on. The guy I bought the tires from, gave me the space to raise the third brake light to carry the spare that I have.

Just not enough time in the day to get it all done.

I do plan on putting the sye on first, and then save up for gears and lockers all at the same time.
I have never done gears, so will probably have someone else do them along with the lockers.
One of the guys in our jeep club has a shop, so I will probably pay him to do it. Since he is a local wheeler.

Thanks for the comments.

AggieDog

Do you ever get down towards Fresno?

If you do, let me know, and we can go do some trails up around swamp lake, and Ducy.
Lots of stuff around there.

Nice jeep.

We also bought a Rubi in Feb and just finished the lift.

Here it is after it came off the lift.

Here is my wife all smiles after we are done. Her and I installed the lift in about 8 hours.
Guess who drives it the most? You get two?

Here is our Rubi and our X sitting nose to nose.

We are going up to Bald Mountain near Shaver Lake for the 4th of July weekend to try it out.
