Hi, I'm new here and a new Jeep owner. Very Happy
I am looking for some help / instructions for removing the factory stereo from my 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo and installing a new one. I'm not even sure how to start as I can't see any obvious way to remove the dash panel surrounding the stereo.
I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me on this!

Have you purchased your new head unit yet? If not, order it through Crutchfield. Not only do they include all the brackets and harnesses you'll need to easily make the planned upgrade, they provide detailed, vehicle specific instructions on how to disassemble the dash to remove the head unit and install what you've purchased.

Otherwise, I'm not much help. I don't have a Grand Cherokee.

Just got a 05 Jeep Liberty 3 months ago and already installed a new Kenwood MP3 player. They should be very similar. There was only 1 screw just left of the lighter. Unscrew, and pull out the bezel starting from the bottom. It came out better when I had the E-brake on and put the gear shift as far back as it could go. Then just 4 more screws hold the radio in.

I used Kits: Scosche FCJ1276A (dash kit) $9.99 Walmart
Install booklet says #2561 fits 99-04 Cherokee and 02-05 Liberty
Scosche CR02B (wire harness) http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=90112782&loc=111&sp=3
Scosche CRA-B (Antenna Adapter)
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=90118144&loc=111&sp=1

Links to the parts are the cheapest I found anywhere!

Hope this helps!!!
