Ok, I have a 98 tj and want to put some tow hooks on the front. PRoblem is I don't like the looks of the oem hooks, I prefer the hooks on the yj's, that actually look like a chain hook. Quadratec says they wont fit a tj due to the rubber bumper things. And after looking at my bumper, I can see that. Any other hooks that look like hooks for a TJ? Thanks.

Just take the rubber bumpstop things off the front of the bumper and problem solved. Just about any towhook ya pick up at the parts store should work then. You'll prolly have to pull the bumper to get them off though, not sure. Been awhile since I had my front one off.

As you bolt them down, they'll deform the rubber and fit well. The rubber bumpers would help keep you from puncturing something (like another vehicle) with the hooks if they weren't there.

I would just take those rubber peices off, looks better that way anyway and that solves that problem

Just made a grove in my rubber bumper stops
Added the bumper guard from JCROFFROAD and did not need to have made the grove. Got the tow hooks from 4wheel drive for $ 6.99 the same black as the bumper
