I broke the light socket that lights up the heater control panel on my 95 YJ. The dealer wants $90.00 for that part of the wiring harness. Can anyone tell me where I could get a repair socket & pigtail? Or if someone can find one in a salvage yard for me, I would gladly pay a reasonable amount for the part, S&H and for your time. There are not any jeeps in any of the salvage yards here in Wichita Kansas.

i just went through my yj parts list .pdf - everything that was even remotely related to your HVAC system (wiring, insulators, lamp connectors, etc.) are coming up labeled as "non serviceable". seems like you may have to either pony up the money or start hitting local yards when you have an afternoon free.

I have found sockets available at several salvage yards on the east & west coasts and in Colorado via the internet. Please disregard my request.

FYI

The people at J&W Auto Wreckers were very helpful in finding what I needed. No matter how small the item was that I was looking for. Their web site is www.jwjeep.com and they are located in Antelope, California.

On the other hand, at Republic 4x4 Park in Englewood, Colorado,
they "couldn't be bothered for such a small item". I just don't get it. They responded to my search engine inquirey via e-mail, but when I called them, the wouldn't give me the time of day. I guess my $20.00 isn't good enough for them.

FYI, If anyone is looking for this light socket, it is the same socket that is found in a mid 90's Cherokee shifter console located on the transmission tunnel.
