ok I have a 97 ZJ with the I6 242 tc, and It is now raining pretty good outside and everytime I try to accelerate moderatly my right rear tire just spins ( open dif Evil or Very Mad ) and now I have to run in fulltime 4wd to get any traction. I have new tires which have a decent tread to them (my parents picked em out, I wanted bfg at's they wanted cheap). so is their any decent and cheap way to get better traction in the rain. I drive with a light foot as that it costs to much in gas to look like an ass.

Did you have the problem before the tires were changed? If so, it's the tires. What tires were put on?

Probobly is the Cheap tires... Lots of time cheap tires are made of hard compound will not get good wet weather traction.. But they will last you 50,000 miles... Rolling Eyes Crappy tradeoff... But anyway..

When you get some money ... Spend it on some good tires... Cheap tires are just that ....Cheap... Tell your parents they didnt do you any favors by buying you cheap tires....

I am of the opinion that you get what you pay for in tires , Shocks and engine components....

Good luck..

Carl

My parents got me crappy tires on my old car because they lasted for about 60,000 miles. One wet night a guy slammed on his brakes in front of me even thoguh I was pretty far away from him. Had to skid right over a curb and then slid through a field and almost hit some guy trying to cross the street. That could have ended pretty bad even thoguh I was "saving money" on long distance tires.
