My daughter has a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Her climate control on the passenger side does not heat. The Chevrolet dealership advised that she needed to have her mid case replaced. Does anyone know what a "mid case" is?

No.

The more important question would be why did you take a Jeep to a Chevy dealer?

Lol, good question! It was a Jeep dealership, I just misspoke. The climate control on the passenger side is just blowing cold air instead of heat, and the technician said she needed a new "midcase". My husband, who knows a lot about cars, does not know what that is.

Here is an idea, call the Jeep dealership that told her to replace it and ask what a mid case is! Wink

Im guessing from the lack of responces that no one else here knows what it is either. I have a decent working knowledge of Jeeps and dont have a clue either.

Jeep Iceland's responce to ask the dealer is probably the best bet.

I just called my local Jeep dealer and described the symtoms to them and asked what a "mid-case" was. They said they had never heard that term but it sounded like the problem was in the plenum. The gates in the plenum, which seperate the d/s and p/s climate control, are vacuum operated. The tech. said if the Jeep was brought in they would diagnose it at no charge to get an estimate.
