i swapped an 8.8 into my 91 yj and it wasnt that hard just make sure that you have axle pads that fit around the 8.8 because it has a bigger diameter then the stocker. also the hole in the spring pad was larger then the dowel on my springs so make sure that the axle is centered. my 8.8's pumpkin was off set some so yours might be also. i have a tom woods drive shaft so i dont have a harmonic vibration but you might depending on your application. lastly be sure to tilt the axle up if you need to so u wont break drive shaft u-joints.
hope that helps
