I have this problem when am driving and I floor the pedal (or even just try to pass someone) the engine revs high but the tranny takes for ever to shift. It feels like im driving a 4 cyl. I took it to a tranny shop and after a diagnostic check the told me it had a code for bad air flow. They told me the problem may be from the k&N filter. I put the stock filter back on but Im still having the same problem. Any one have any ideas??? I mean any???

I just got my 2001 back from the dealer yesterday for the same problem. I couldnt go over 65. You will most likely need to replace your cat.

That happened in my 94 GC. It was a bad catalytic converetor. I was sure that it was my trans. I have a k&n on my v8 and have never had a problem with it.
