OK, stupid question. I've got a 02 GC Overland. It has a 4.7 HO power plant. Now it's time to change the plugs. The write up from WJJeeps was very informative. Now for my question. How do you close the spark plug gap? The write up kept stressing the importance of using the round gap tool and it talks about widening the gap. All of the Champion 7318's I bought are gapped at .045. I need to close the gap by .005. The way I would usually do it would be to tap the ground electrode onto a hard surface to close it up. Will this still work with Double Platinum plugs?

I have a small brass hammer that I use .. But tapping them should work.. tap lightly though....

The "commando" Mini Brass hammer is my tool of choice..

1OZ.. And tough as it looks... Mr. Green
