Hi all,

Help! I have just bought myself a Jeep, after wanting one for years! It is a 1996 Grand Jeep Cherokee Ltd, and I believe it is a ZJ.

On my way to work this morning, I opened the window, and low and behold, it won't close now. I am guessing that it may be the fuse that is a problem, as none of the windows work now, and I can't hear any motor movement in the door.

I have looked through loads of posts, and see that the fuse responsible for the the windows is fuse #26. The problem is, I can't find fuse #26! I have looked in the fusebox next to the footpedals, and there are only fuses 1-22 in there. Looking in the book doesn't help either.

Please please help! It is -2C here this morning, and I can't close the windows or lock the car.

Any help would be gratefully received!

All the best
Matt

Don't know where the fuse is on a ZJ but I read that you have two problems...why can't you lock the doors? Is it all the doors and all the windows, or just one door and one window? Is it the same door?

Sounds like something in the window switch has gone bad

if its a fuse my fuse box is on the passenger side on the side of the dash after you open the door

I have had similar problems and have found that it was the wiring in the boot in the door jam on the drivers side. A few wires were broken from the door being opened and closed so mutch. Don't go buy a new switch ( 138.00 ) like I did to find out it was not the problem and the switch I could not return Crying or Very sad
