To keep KTJ from turning the announcement thread into pages of jibberish, I'm starting this one for open discussion of the event.

Discuss. Wink

Steve and I were talking about camping. The web site listes two places to camp. Sometime over the next month or so I'll give them a call and post up the details.

You have to show up! I'm getting tired of being surrounded by Jeeps with tops that wont come off or round head lights. We need more YJs Mr. Green

I'd be coming and I'd take my top off just to get Yankee muddy if there's any mud. But I promised a friend that I'd tag along with him up to Indianapolis for a gaming convention. Have fun on the trail. I'll be a little jealous.

Ok guys, I looked up information about places to stay for the J-HO east Run. Let me know what your thoughts are and if you are coming.

Camping:

Windrock Campground:

Camping is $18 for a tent of 2 people. The camping area is a first come first serve; they don’t have individual camping lots. I asked about if the run out of room and she said she wouldn't. The camping area has no electricity but has a community water spigot.

They do have RV sites, with gravel. The reason I mention is because I know Mark and MJ have a pop up camper. The RV sites are $32 a night and they include their own water and electricity. There are a couple RV sites that are close to the camp ground.

Hotels:

Double Tree:
$84 a night;
No Breakfast but they do have a full service restaurant on the premises which has a breakfast buffet for $8.75 (kinda like Shoney’s).
They have indoor / outdoor pool
high speed internet. (Wireless)

Days Inn:
$64 a night
No breakfast

Hampton Inn:
$84 a night
Breakfast
High speed Internet (wireless)

Jameson Inn
$83 a night
Breakfast (waffles / boiled eggs / hot & cold cereals / biscuits and gravy)
Wireless internet

Super 8:
$48 a night
Breakfast (coffee and muffins)

I vote hotel, shower and food, and most important air-conditioning. Can be Super 8 or Comfort Inn (don't care). Yeah, we do have a camper (basic, sleep only) and we can bring it and about 8-10 can sleep in it (all together now!). No AC/water/toilet, but Mark could boil coffee in the AM.

I think every time I've been camping with Mark and MJ (twice) both times it rained.

When we camp in NC at Grandfather Mountain, tt was the middle of July and we were freezing and wet the entire weekend.

The second time was this past year at Uwharrie.
