my little sister has a 96 grand cherokee laredo limited - I6 - auto 2wd. the thing has a bit of a vibration at idle, and poor performance at lower rpm. it has died a few times while being driven at normal speeds. i've ben told that this torque converter locks or something(not familiar with it), and we think the converter may be to blame. can anyone tell me what trans and what kind of converter this truck has? also, where can i get a new converter if it turns out to be the problem? can i use the key trick to pull codes on this thing? i have a scanner, but the truck is a ways away. please pm me if you know what going on with this truck. thanks

those dont sound like a torque converter problem.

it could be a hole list of things, fuel pump, fuel filter, crank sensor, throttle position sensor, o2 sensor
