Maybe some backround on myself would help, for an introduction. 19 years old, male, from the Tri-state area (floated between New York and Connecticut from the time I was 8 due to divorced parents). Graduated from high school in 2004, joined the Air Force two months later. I'm an Airman First Class (E-3) stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ, working on A-10 ejection seats. I like computers (made my own), building models (an F-16 and P-51 so far), and working (love my job).

When I joined the Air Force, I was 17. I didn't turn 18 until a few days after I left for Tucson, and i'm 19 now. So i've been the youngest guy in the group for a while (probably didn't change when I joined this forum), not to mention the poorest. I drove a 1984 Buick Skyhawk that was older than I am.

This car was painted the drabbest shade of grey god could conceive, had more dents than any three New York taxicabs, an engine that sounded like a washing machine going down a flight of stairs, and a wierd smell that had me convinced there was once a dead body in the trunk. However, it went from point A to B (sometimes it even made the trip in one piece) and it had working AC (after paying 50$ for some dude in Phoenix to refill it with Freon), and insurance was $80 a month. So I could ignore a few shortcomings.

Then my dad asked me if I wanted his 2003 Jeep Rubicon. A little more money a month with insurance and bank payments. However, it was still a JEEP, the kind of car I had wanted since I saw my first monster truck jump and realized the Wrangler was the closest I was gonna get, so I jumped at the chance. So he gifted me his Rubicon and we got all the paperwork in order. It was picked up from New York yesterday and is currently en route to Tucson.

I know absolutely nothing about Jeeps, and very little about cars in general. So expect to see me asking a lot of questions.

Anyway. Hello.

welcome

You've got to have the best father in the world. I think if you can work on A-10s (which by the way are bad ass!!) then with a repair manual and a few tools you could do just about anything you need to do.
