I have recently purchased a 1980 CJ-7 with a wore-out 258. I was thinking about rebuilding the torque monster when I stumbbled across a Mopar 360 (transmission and transfer case included) out of an old Dodge Power Wagon (CHEAP). Luckily the transfer case is located on the correct side of the transmission. I know I can get some motor mounts easily and I'll probably have to adjust my driveshafts, but is there anything that will cause major implications in the process? Has anyone installed all three components? Please let me know.

Novak has a lot of good info, but this'll probably be the most relevant:
Quote:
The rear-mounted distributor is something for the installer to keep an eye on, but is hardly a hindrance in most installations. The longer water pumps on the engines contribute to the overall length of the motor, and care should be taken to allow for this. Use of conventional mechanical and electrical fans is feasable.
