Okay, so I bought these soft doors off of ebay (how many times does a story start with that? ugh) and they are not fitting very well. Well, they are not latching hardly at all - as in I touch them and they open. I adjusted the hinge pin, and the paddle handle still doesn't latch to the latch pin well at all. Since some of you have these doors, are there any tips/trick I am missing?
The person selling them said they would fit '97+ (I have a '00), but now I am starting to wonder if these are YJ. I dunno. Any help would be great as the weather has been perfect. Here are pics.

Looking at picks on bestop.com, I think these are YJ doors. Damnit.

I had a similar problem on my CJ7, I know it's different but it may give you an idea of how to fix the problem. I had to shim the latch that was attached to the frame, extending it so the door latch would not bounce loose. I just got a couple of longer bolts some round tubing (don't remember what I used) and made spacers, but washers or anything may work. Only problem you may run into is putting on the hard doors again.

They look like mine on the latch assembly...which I have an '02. Take the window portion off and see if they fit. How close are they? Are you adjusting the 7/16 bolts on the bottom front (under the pouches) to adjust the height?

I got the bottoms done first, then adjusted the windows. Then re-adjusted the hinges again for both to fit up. PITA, but once they are done they are great! Or rather, mine are.

Just a couple thoughts.

We tired aligning them all different ways. I am fairly certain they are for a YJ. Damn ebay jerk. According to Bestop, the latches are different, at least when looking at their line-art instructions. Welp, they may just end up on ebay again. sheesh.

they look my doors too and I have an 02.

I know one of my latches was not working right. It was a PITA to get it to latch and once it did you had a hard time opening it. I ended up ordering new latches from Quadreteck for $99.
