i have a tremendous loss of power on my `98 cherokee 2.5 turbodiesel(non US).it`s as if the turbo not working, but i checked that the wastegate are normally closed and opening under pressure and working.there are no power over 2000rpm.this happende to me when i bought the car,but the problem went away for a long time before it suddenly came back after a gasstation stop.all vakuumlines and electrical wires looks fine(visually).the enginge starts and idle just fine and there are no other obvius mailfunction off the vehicle.there are no troublecodes using the keytrick.i`m eventually thinking the engine not getting enough diesel, and therefor the lack of power and the turbo discharging pressure?

has anyone experience with this ?

pardon my poor english writing.

Not sure how the 2.5TD is set up, but does it have a diesel filter that can easily be changed? Does it have a water seperator that needs to be drained? How about a faulty injector(s)? Sounds like it's going into the limp mode - if you have a mechanic with a scanner that can read the VM codes, I'd have him scan it to see what exactly the problem is. Let us know how it goes.

From what I've read, it usually does, but it sounds like the engine also has a diesel control module or computer in addition to the regular one. If there is a problem with it, I don't think the check engine light will always come on.
