This is my first post in this forum.

I have a 1993 Cherokee with a 5 speed manual trans. It's clocking a little over 140k miles with the original clutch.

There is a problem with the clutch that I will try my best to describe. When I come to a stop and depress the clutch all is fine. When I start to let the clutch out it engages just after the pedal is barely released from its full disengaged position (to the floor). If I put the trans in neutral and pump the pedal it firms up and engages in the middle of the pedal throw....which is normal.

Anytime I have the pedal depressed for more that 5 seconds the clutch engages as soon as the pedal leaves the fully disengaged position.

The hydraulic reservoir is full and there is no fluid leakage in any obvious place.

Trans guys want $700 - $1,000 to go fishing. I paid $600 for the Cherokee so its either a cheap fix or the old heave ho!

Any comments/ advice will be greatly appreciated.
