The tranny in my 99 Cherokee makes a noise like fan blades hitting a shroud when I first start off. It does it for about 100 yards, when pulling off from a start. Then it goes away and does not return until the engine is shut off, if restarted and driven within a few minutes there is no noise. If the thing sits for more the 20 minutes the noise will reappear, and then dissappear again. Is there a pump that feeds something within the tranny, and soes it seem that this is the source of the noise. the tranny seems to slip slightly untill the noise disappears.
