I've been told that they are the same, thats why they have a lot of the same stuff and everything looks like each others?? Which I also believe is the same company making Kobolt (Spelling?) tools at Lowe's?? _________________ "GODZILLA" More than a Jeep, it's family!!

Definately not the same.
I do not know if they share a parent company or not, but I do not think so.
Snap on as a much more kick arse warrenty, if you dont like it for ANY reason they replace it. Only downfall is the snap on truck doestn stop at my house everyday, and he is definately not around at 8pm on a fri night.
Craftsman HAND tools have a lifetime warrenty if they are broken. So if it still works but is just messed up they can hassel you about replaceing. But thats not a problem as there are many ways to break a tool in the Sears parking lot
For the average do it yourselfer craftsman is the way to go imo, sears is always around, and they make a decent tool.
Kobalt/husky are also decent brands but I dont like the feel of them. Not to mention you have to send in for a warrenty claim.
I use 95% Craftsman. When they break I get a new one. when I dont like them any more I break them.

Yea, I'm using 95% craftsman hand tools, including most of my impact sockets (some are Ingersol-Rand). There's the odd NAPA, Kobalt, SK, etc. floating around from when I needed some size I didn't have and rather than deal with going to the mall, it was quicker to get it from the autoparts store.
China, Tiawan...it doesn't matter. It's all little asian kids making our tools for slave labor rates...that's the point.
DISCLAIMER - The above comment, while off color, should in no way be taken seriously. It's a joke people, lighten up. _________________

| Many of the tools that Craftsman sells are made by Easco. I have many of each, and they're identical, even to the trim lines on the ratchets. I'm sure other people make tools for Craftsman also, but i believe Easco makes the majority of their hand tools. |

i use about 55% snap-on 20% westward 10% proto 5% mac ,s.k and the rest craftsman . or atleast thats how my good box is set up the other is full of craftsman .
ive broken craftsman and i have broken proto , the rest just haven't broken proto is actuallly a really good brand but i had a ratchet blow up .
i personally like westward alot , there cheep(ish) and stronger then craftsman and have a perfect warantee .
i don't like husky.
craftsman and snap-on aren't even close to being the same brand |

cheep asian crap
however most of my stuff is actuly old USN (united states navy) tools my dad stole from the ship he served on when it got decomisioned.
all and all i think he made off with about 175-200 LBS of sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, and other tools i cant think of. |

ok, my pop's "found them" in a ship that he served on.
and it was definatly more than 15 years ago.
he entered the NAVY just before they instituted the draft for the Vietnam war, and he was in for just under 4 years. so that should give u an idea as to the tools...mabe. |

probibly still the same. Remember, contract go to the lowest bidder. Oh and made in the US with US steel.
Nuclear reactors made by lowest bidder, huh. Now you know where my handle came from. I don't need a nightlight. _________________ '87 XJ Chief w/tow pack. Dana 30/44 f/r
