so my craftsman torx/starbit (jeep owner must haves) are getting chipped at the ends of the teeth. anyone have this problem?
what really gets me is that they are supposedly 'impact'. i keep twisting or breaking teeth.
and furthermore, i really hope the local dealership has some extra torx/star bolts for a couple ones that i've almost stripped.
oh..the makers of said craftsman tool is 'lisle' |

Those aren't Craftsmen if they're marked Lisle. My Craftmen Torx set stood up well until I took an impact to the T-40 trying to remove my tailgate hinges. The Craftsmen are specifically noted on the packaging not for impact use. What's funny though is that when I took them back for warranty, they wouldn't replace just the T-40 I shattered because they didn't sell that one individually. I turned in my whole set (7-piece) and got another whole new set. Talk about stupid on their part and a waste of their money. _________________ 04 Unlimited |

I broke a big Craftsman Torx socket trying to get the rear brake caliper off my Harley. Bought a set of Armstrong Torx sockets and these things look like they'd survive a ground-zero nuclear blast. _________________ She was only a fisherman's daughter,

i usually replace the annoying torx bolts i remove with hex cap screws if it is possible , it just makes life easier in the future . |
