i bought the thing a few weeks ago, it shifted smoothly from that time, aside from now and then i'd have to double clutch it to get it gear, and the engagement point was almost nearly on the floor.

suddenly two days ago it wouldn't go into gear after startup, any of them. turns out our master cylinder was shot.

i'm broke, and can't get money till i finish the place i'm working on (just started a business), so i went to a local junkyard and found what felt like a good master cylinder in a commanche. pulled it, installed it, and not only can i not seem to get all the air out of the master (by pumping and cracking the line), but it absolutely refuses to move any fluid down the line to the slave. a friend and i have been bleeding and pumping and priming and bleeding all day, the best it ill do is make a few air noises and nothing else.

we've tried gravity bleeding, and all manner of everything else we can think of.

i have a hard time believing the part that just yesterday felt great in the junkyard car is bad. am i doing something wrong? there's no sign of leakage at the slave cylinder, and there wasn't any sign of leakage in the commanche.

Is there a bleeder nipple on the slave cylinder? Have you filled the master, opened the bleeder and let it gravity bleed?
