I just wanted to remind everyone that our September run will be the 14th Annual Poker Run the 22 - 23. The registration is out in the latest news letter and also can be found here: http://www.va4wda.org/spring2006web.pdf

Don't wait to register, this year they are only taking the first 200 vehicles. Also your registration must be post marked by Sept 1.

I have the leave approved for this one already. Now the question is camp or showers?

Steve & me along with Mary Jane & Mark have our reservations at the Village Inn. The beds were not that great, but the showers were very nice. If you stay there I would make your reservations ASAP, those rooms don't last very long.

We shall be camping, who needs showers anyway, besides the rooms were gone already.

I'll be sending in my registration tomorrow. This means I'll probably be camping if the hotel's filled.

I finally got the wiring working properly on the CJ-5 and the engine turns over when I start it. Now, I just need to leach the fuel tank and seats from the Honda Accord and buy a 4 or 5 point harness and assemble the fuel line. Then I'll be set, except for a trailer.

There are other hotels to stay at; the Village Inn is nice because it’s only 10 min away from Oak Ridge. Everywhere else is about 30 min away. Look here for other places to stay: http://www.nelsoncounty.com/visit/lodging

As for camping Trevor, just wanted to make sure you know that the camping is primitive. You only have what you bring and port-o-johns, that's it.

Oh, I know that camping is primitive. Camping as I've seen have always been primitive except North Carolina.

I was actually kidding about camping. It'll probably be way too hot for me to camp anyway. I need the kind of weather that one doesn't want to get out of bed for. Mr. Green

I got a PM from Harvin yesterday asking about the Poker Run and if we planned on attending. He said that they have 80 vehicles registered now, remember there is a limit of 200. So if you want to go and haven't sent in you application yet, do so quickly. The application is in the Spring VA4WDA Newsletter, if you don't have a copy here's a link to it: http://www.va4wda.org/spring2006web.pdf

How long does it normally take to get a response?

I may need to e-mail about my registration.
