I am looking to install a turbo in my 4.0L '92 Cherokee Laredo for better highway power and mileage and was wondering if anyone here has done this without using a kit (ie. a donor turbo from a car).

If anyone has done this or knows of sites that talk about this it would be much appreciated. All I have found in my search at google and forums is turbo kits for the 4.0L that are around the $4-5k range.

JP Magazine used a Garrett turbo in that Wrangler. A ball-bearing turbo that is pretty high dollar. Check around, I know that Borg-Warner (who I work for) uses journal bearings (uses oil for the lubrication) in their turbos. Try contacting them and see if they have anything for you.
