I'm new here and I already think you guys are awesome. This forum has been a great help in my 4x4 education. Anyhow, to the point...

I have a bone stock '95 XJ 2dr 4x4 with an auto. She's a daily driver and occassional hunter. I am looking to enhance those characteristics, not turn her into a rock crawler... yet. I've read most of the posts about lifts and I an debating between the RE6030 kit the Rusty's 300SP (looks just as good but $300+ cheaper). My questions are, which kit? Can a novice do the job at home in a weekend? Do the kits come with instructions?

I have a floor jack, 2 jack stands, 2 wheel ramps, plenty of wrenches, sockets and screwdivers, but nothing pneumatic. What else would I need?

I too was looking at a Rusty's Lift (look at link above for another similiar discussion) but went with RE and couldn't be happier!

Just be aware that all in all, it will probably cost you about twice what you think it will before you are done!

LOTS of PB Blaster and a BIG breaker bar and hope you don't break bolts! (EspeciallyRear upper Shock bolts!)

There are several good threads/writeups about fixing them when that happens. Read up before hand and you will be prepared for the inevitable!

Good to know. I had read the thread you linked already and I was leaning towards the RE kit. I'm just looking for details. Your XJ looks great btw. You mentioned it took 2 days and you knew what you were doing going in. That's good to know too. What turned you off about the Rusty's kit?
