Hi,
I have two light-related questions for you all.

1) Headlights: If my headlights are left on when the key is removed from the ignition, they stay on even if the light switch is then turned off. If I put the key back in, switch the ignition on, turn lights off and remove the key, they turn off fine. I'm just wondering if this is a Jeep 'thing', something I should try to fix or just live with? It really is not a big deal unless it is an indicator of some other problem.

2) Foglights: My foglights (it is an 88 Laredo, lights mounted directly on top of bumper) currently consist of a plastic case & caps that contain the completely rusted remains of what once were fog lights. Since discovering this, I have been considering replacing them. My question has to do with the difficulty involved. I don't think I can get at the mounting bolts from under the bumper - will I have to start dismantling the front of my Cherokee to replace the lights? If so, the buckets o' rust can just stay there! Smile

Thanks

On the headlights, my 97 will do the same thing....turn off the key and then turn off the headlights and they will stay on. As long as they turn off after a minute or so, I would say it's normal.

I'm not sure on the fog lights. The design is a little different on the 97 and I was able to get at them without removing the bumper.

Thanks very much - I wasn't worried so much about the lights being left on as about possible underlying craziness in the electrical system that could be causing it. Good to know it isn't anything to worry about
